Mission

Comedian Cecil Ray, born Raymond Cecil Chase II, came from humble beginnings and was raised in Newburg, Maryland by his grandmother where he enjoyed a country life.

Cecil Ray served in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for eight years. He currently works as a Master A/C and Heating Service Tech mechanic, and has been working in this field for the past 20 years.

After being in the trade for so many years and looking at several network marketing ventures, he was seeking God on January 14, 2012, for a new avenue to enjoy in his life, as well as gain financial freedom without hard manual labor.  God gave him his answer in writing and laughter along with this Scripture: “And the Lord answered me and said, write the vision and make it a plan upon tables, that he may run that readeth it” (Habakkuk 2:2 KJV).

Vision

Cecil Ray was also inspired by his wife of 26 years, Tracy Chase, who encouraged him to follow the vision of God.  He met and began a wonderful mentoring relationship with Miss Clareese, a successful Christian comedian who has been working on his craft for over 20 years.  Later, he took classes on how to be a comedian and how to perform.

On Saturday, August 25, 2012, Cecil Ray debuted as a Christian comedian at the Riverside Station Club House in Woodbridge, VA. He was joined by his wife and their two daughters Raychelle and Raequel, along with a host of family, friends, and fellow comedians.  It was a wonderful laughing experience, the crowd loved him and his act.  They could not believe how well he performed and engaged with the crowd.  After his debut, Cecil Ray continued to take classes studying his craft and began performing in the greater Washington, DC area, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Fast forward to December 8, 2013, at the Lorton Workhouse Arts Center, where the Cecil Ray Comedy Club Show, which featured a live jazz band and delicious food, was born in front of a sold-out audience.  Cecil Ray continued to book his shows at the Workhouse for several months, eventually moving the show to Woodbridge, VA at the Freedom Fellowship Church. Now, the Cecil Ray Comedy Club Show is building its audience in Fredericksburg, Virginia at the Wingate by Wyndham located at 20 Sanford Drive.
